About Lochaber Gas
Prior to moving to Fort William in 2018, I worked for Scottish Gas as a service and repair engineer, covering the south Glasgow area. I have over 10 years of experience repairing and servicing central heating systems, boilers and installations. I cover most aspects of domestic and commercial gas, from servicing and repairs to upgrades and installations.
Areas Covered
Based in Fort William I cover all of Lochaber and the immediate areas. Milage is applied after 15 miles, this is solely to cover the cost of getting to you, not to make a profit.
From speaking with my customers further afield I know the difficulties in finding a domestic/commercial LPG gas safe registered engineer. If you live outwith Lochaber please do get in touch. In the coming months, should there be a demand, we aim to offer a regular service to Skye and surrounding areas for LPG repair, installation and service.
Domestic Gas Services
Boiler servicing
It is recommended that all gas appliances are inspected and serviced on an annual basis to ensure that they are working safely and correctly. At Lochaber Gas Services I am a fully qualified LPG gas safe registered engineer who takes pride in servicing your boiler or appliance to the highest standards. Upon completion I issue an electronic service certificate, highlighting all work and adjustments taken place during the service. Please note that a service can only be carried out if the appliance is fully functional.
Servicing costs start at £75, excluding parts.
Landlord gas safety services
As a landlord, it is a legal requirement that all gas appliances and pipework in rented accommodation are inspected and maintained annually. This includes guest houses, bedsits, caravans, communal kitchens and staff accommodation. Our qualified LPG gas engineers are at hand to carry out landlord gas safety checks to ensure the safe and correct operation of your LPG gas appliances.
Landlord gas seftey certificates have a fixed price of £75 per property. Discounts may be available for larger volumes.
Boiler Repairs
Qualified engineers are at hand should any problems arise with your gas, boiler or central heating/hot water system. With over 10 years of experience in serving and repairs, I provide a fast and efficient service to restore the heating to your home. A boiler breakdown callout is a fixed price of £75 (excluding parts) for the first hour., £35 per hour thereafter, however, 90% of domestic LPG boiler breakdowns and central heating faults are resolved or diagnosed within the first hour.
In cases when boiler parts are required we charge an additional £55* to return and fit them.
*Price may vary depending on the complexity of parts to be fitted.

Commercial Gas Services
LPG commercial catering safety certificates (CP42)
By law, commercial kitchen owners have a legal duty to ensure that any gas appliances and pipework in the premises are inspected by a certified Gas Safe Registered engineer, to ensure their correct and safe operation, at least once a year. The safety certificate issued by the engineer is a CP42. CP 42 certificates are valid for 12 months from the day of issue and are required every year.
Our fully qualified gas engineers are accredited commercial catering engineers and are able to carry out CP42 checks on your commercial kitchen. Prices start at £160 including two appliances. Additional appliances are charged at a rate of £30 per appliance.
Mobile catering gas safety certificates
Our LPG gas engineers are able to carry out safety checks on mobile catering vans. Prices start at £160 including two appliances. Additional appliances are charged at a rate of £30 per appliance.
